James joined EY-Seren this February as a Principal Product Manager, having previously held senior digital roles in Government, Southbank Centre, Universal Music and the BBC.

“As EY-Seren’s first product hire, I’m keen to shape and build our product management capability and market proposition, demonstrating the value added by product-thinking to our clients. For me, product is foremost about communication and making decisions: asking robustly framed questions, challenging assumptions and prioritising features based on user data.

I’ve been making digital things for a while now, often in large, complex organisations. I wasn’t initially looking to move agency-side, but the decision to join EY-Seren was a very quick one given the volume and tempo of work. It’s a very lean organisation with a sharp focus on outcomes, which is energising, and there are very few barriers to getting things done or working in new ways.

The culture is mentioned a lot, and with good reason — it’s a dynamic, healthy environment. There are a lot of very bright people here, naturally collaborative and highly invested in delivering the best work possible.
